Two Surprise Gifts & 3 Giveaways

“Their Landscapes” by Novik

I did not expect it. That’s the definition of “surprise,” right? I needed new words for Christmas, to awaken my weary eyes. (Ach, Christmas already? Baby Jesus—-again?) But I had neither space nor time to write it. Then——out of unexpected sickness, confinement and sleeplessness——these words came. And joy comes again—-and again! Maybe for you too? (May I read it with you?)

Another gift came this week. Unexpectedly, out of the black-and-blue of my writer’s bruises while composing Nearing a Far God. I am deeply grateful for the just-announced CT 2024 Book Award in the Bible and Devotional category. (To those who prayed for me while writing—-LOOK what your prayers did!!!!!)

(Amazingly, it’s on sale on amazon right now for under $10.)

In their announcement of this award, two ministry leaders spoke about the book:

As someone who often struggles with prayer, I appreciated this book’s fresh perspective on immersing ourselves in the Psalms. Nearing a Far God illuminates both the art and technique of rehearsing and living out these biblical prayers. Fields helps readers cultivate a bold, vibrant, expressive faith that mirrors not only the heart of David but most fully the heart of our Father God. —Mikella Van Dyke, founder of the ministry Chasing Sacrred

Dear Friends, Thank you for sharing this space with me! And remember——God is creating a new heavens and a new earth—-starting within you!

SO gratefully,

Leslie
